Preamble
The agencies and organizations are not for profit, community based providers of rehabilitation services to persons living with the effects of acquired brain injury. These agencies operate in various municipalities in the Province of Ontario, with funding assistance provided by the Province of Ontario. They have a community of interest in coming together to form a not for profit Provincial Association and are committed to promoting, enhancing and expanding the provision of rehabilitation services for persons in Ontario living with the effects of brain injury through community based, not for profit agencies.
Purposes and Object

To identify issues affecting the common concerns of its members and develop responses, actions or solutions to such issues.

To advance the common interests and viewpoints of its members in the development and implementation of governmental policies.

To exchange information among its members relevant to their respective plans, operations and funding in order to enhance the ability of each member to carry on its affairs more effectively or efficiently.
Membership

Classes of membership - there shall be one class of membership in the association.

Qualification for membership - membership in the association shall be open to organizations that:

Deliver rehabilitation services in the general community to persons living with the effects of a brain injury, or have been approved in principle for funding by the Province of Ontario for the establishment and operation of such rehabilitation services.

Are not for profit.

Are governed either by a board of directors or other governing body composed of volunteers drawn from the community at large, or if the organization is associated with a hospital, such organization takes its direction and guidance from a constitute, active advisory board composed of volunteers drawn from the community at large and as such, operates independently of hospital direction or control.

The directors or advisory board members are prohibited by law and/or by their respective letters patent or other constitution from receiving and remuneration or profiting from their position, other than reimbursement of reasonable expense.

Which have been accepted for membership in the association by the affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the association's members.
